All my works, whether L'Esprits de Madjid, a portrait of the young gay man Madjid in Togo that brings together homosexuality and Vaudoo, the hybrid documentary La Petite Difference, or the more recent autobiographical film Becoming Black, center on local and little-known stories and bring them into relation to the global and dominant.
Currently I'm working on the afro-feminist essay film The House is on Fire… let it burn!
It focuses on encounters with older initiated women in Togo and the Côte d'Ivoire, who protest with their naked bodies and their magical powers to advocate for the well-being of their fellow humans. The documentary wants to be both a metaphor and a call to action in the face of global crises on so many levels.
