German Majors to Present Culminating Projects

Congratulations to the graduating German senior majors, who present their culminating projects on Monday, March 6 in Reed 107 from 4-5 PM.

Relly Ladner and Frances Pool-Crane have chosen creative formats that toggle between visual and text media. Both reflect their thoughts on the theme Belonging in Germany, which is also the topic of German 65.06, taught by Yuliya Komska.

In "Interpretation von Ellen von Unwerths Fotos durch Mood Boards als Kunstmedium," Relly Ladner reaches for the mood board to respond to fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth's provocative deconstruction of traditional German dress.

In "Gynandrisch," a graphic novel inspired by the work of Alison Bechdel and Nora Krug, Frances Pool-Crane searches for historical kinship with gender-nonconforming photographers and writers of the Weimar era.
