Undergraduate

A major or minor in German Studies is like any other concentration in a liberal arts setting: it serves to broaden a student’s horizons.

A solid foundation

Many of our graduates teach German Studies at the secondary or university levels. Others work in disciplines such as law, medicine, business, government, and the arts.

Studying the German language has frequently opened doors for alumni: approximately 150 of them live in German-speaking countries, and even more use their knowledge of German language and culture in their occupations. The critical thinking skills you develop through a liberal German Studies education are a solid foundation for any career you may choose.
