The German Studies department has a long and successful history of advising students on pre-professional opportunities and internships before and after graduation. We have revamped the offerings in the wake of the pandemic and hope that you find an exciting opportunity to match your strengths, interests, and personal as well as professional aspirations. Take the time to review the tabs with the recommended offerings, start early, be proactive, and contact designated faculty mentors as indicated.

In the cases with no designated faculty mentor, the professors you know best will be glad to provide feedback on your materials and/or write recommendation letters. Please plan in advance (1-2 months or longer) and cultivate meaningful rapports with your professors. For sciences and technical fields, make sure to ask your mentor(s) in respective departments for guidance and feedback.
