Laurin is originally from Dornbirn, Austria, and is currently completing his master’s degree in English and American Studies at the University of Innsbruck, with a minor in Slavic Cultural and Literary Studies. Although his studies have allowed him to explore the United States intellectually, says Laurin, he has never visited the country himself:
“While I've been able to at least intellectually travel the US with my studies, I've never actually been there in person. So now I'm really excited to finally get to know the American people and culture firsthand.”
At Dartmouth, Laurin will accompany German Studies students on their language learning journey, facilitate communicative activities and structured conversations, hold office hours for language consultation, and share perspectives on Austrian culture and life. He will also serve as the Resident Advisor at the Max Kade German Center.
“I'm really excited to meet all of you in September,” says Laurin.
