On Tuesday, there will be a screening of his award-winning Auschwitz movie And Along Came Tourists (Am Ende Kommen Touristen) at the Loew Theater at 7pm.
When Robert did his Zivildienst after high school, he worked at the Auschwitz concentration camp memorial. A few years later, he made the movie; it's a personal and highly political account and treatment of the concentration camp. He previously showed the movie at Dartmouth when he was here as Kade Professor and a lively discussion followed.
On Wednesday, Robert will give a lecture on The Billion Dollar Code, a Netflix miniseries from 2021. It's a true story and about the four Berlin techies who developed the predecessor of Google Earth and Google Earth Pro. It's about the trial between Google and the Berlin company, but in some sense more so about the clash of two different visions of the internet.
